{"id":75,"date":"2009-10-05T19:23:33","date_gmt":"2009-10-05T23:23:33","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.slickcharters.net\/River-News\/?p=75"},"modified":"2009-10-06T09:45:25","modified_gmt":"2009-10-06T13:45:25","slug":"the-silver-river-always-an-adventure","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.slickcharters.net\/River-News\/2009\/10\/the-silver-river-always-an-adventure\/","title":{"rendered":"THE SILVER RIVER&#8230;ALWAYS AN ADVENTURE"},"content":{"rendered":"<figure id=\"attachment_80\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-80\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-80\" title=\"alligator 2 300X173\" src=\"http:\/\/www.slickcharters.net\/River-News\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/10\/alligator-2-300X173.jpg\" alt=\"Staying Warm Near The Cool Siver River\" width=\"300\" height=\"173\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-80\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Staying Warm Near The Cool Siver River<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>When taking a trip up the Silver River, you never know when you will see something for the first time.<\/p>\n<p>Our guests from Indiana met me at the Ocala Boat Basin around 8:30 a.m., Sunday morning, and we were the first boat down the River.<\/p>\n<p>As usual, when I am trying to site the Rhesus Monkeys, I watch for movement in the trees.<\/p>\n<p>On this paticular occassion, the movement was quite obvious.\u00a0 <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Monkeys were flying from one side of the River to the other, a distance of 20-30 feet<\/span>.\u00a0 They were taking off from the taller trees, and landing in the shorter ones on the far bank.\u00a0<em> This was one of the largest troops of Rhesus Monkeys I have ever seen on the Silver River,\u00a050 or more strong<\/em>.\u00a0 These natural acrobats really put on a show, with us watching in amazement for over 15 minutes.<\/p>\n<p>My guests were anxious to see some alligators, and the first one we spotted was over 12 feet long.\u00a0 One of the largest gators I have ever seen on the Silver River.<\/p>\n<p>After all the trips I have taken up the Silver River in the last 25 years, it never ceases to amaze me that it is always an adventure.<\/p>\n<p>For more information look at the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/slickcharters.net\/tours\/index.htm\">Silver River Tours<\/a>\u00a0section of our\u00a0web site.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>When taking a trip up the Silver River, you never know when you will see something for the first time.
