{"id":352,"date":"2014-09-23T11:37:04","date_gmt":"2014-09-23T15:37:04","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.slickcharters.net\/River-News\/?p=352"},"modified":"2014-09-23T11:40:17","modified_gmt":"2014-09-23T15:40:17","slug":"352","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.slickcharters.net\/River-News\/2014\/09\/352\/","title":{"rendered":"FALL BRINGS OUT THE LARGEST RHESUS MONKEY EVER SPOTTED ON THE RIVERS"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The dog days of summer are fading, giving way to those beautiful fall days on the Rivers.\u00a0 Foggy, cooler mornings enticing even more wildlife out to feast on the bounty of these waterways.\u00a0 Even the bite time for the Largemouth Bass has doubled as they also benefit from the changing of the season.<\/p>\n<p>Fall is always one of the best times to see the Silver and Ocklawaha Rivers.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0A foggy morning\u00a0departure allows you to feel that the River is all yours, breaking into sunshine mid-morning to surround you with the beauty of the flora and wildlife.\u00a0 The tree leaves are changing to their fall colors and reflecting off the crystal clear\u00a0water as can only be seen this time of year.<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0number of birds\u00a0will slowly begin increasing as the cooler temperatures to the north chase them south on their migratory paths.\u00a0 The wildlife that inhabits the Rivers year around is so bountiful that when the migratory birds begin arriving the increase is simply amazing.\u00a0 The birds, alligators, and other inhabitants are everywhere you look.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking of other inhabitants, Capt. Nick spotted the largest Rhesus Monkey he has ever seen along the River this week.\u00a0 He was at least twice the size of any he had seen previously, and in his\u00a0glory as the obvious dominant male.\u00a0 This monkey was on the Ocklawaha River, right at the convergence of the Silver.\u00a0 Knowing how these critters range along the Rivers there is no telling where he will be sighted next.<\/p>\n<p>Thankfully fall will allow for more time on the\u00a0Silver and Ocklawaha,\u00a0as the kinder temperatures allow us to have\u00a0more lazy days on the Rivers.\u00a0\u00a0You are always welcome to bring along food and beverage for your enjoyment on our three hour tour of the Silver River, so please plan a picnic if you wish.\u00a0 We have never said no to mans best friend, so bring him or her\u00a0along for ride.\u00a0 As always, all charters are private.<\/p>\n<p>Until next time, see you on the Rivers!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The dog days of summer are fading, giving way to those beautiful fall days on the Rivers.\u00a0 Foggy, cooler mornings enticing even more wildlife out to feast on the bounty of these waterways.\u00a0 Even the bite time for the Largemouth Bass has doubled as they also benefit from the changing of the season.
